Welcome and Course Overview
Are you ready to help your kids learn four wonderful patriotic songs of America? In this course Sound Bites: Sing a Song of America, spend four weeks learning some of America’s most beloved patriotic songs in a fun and easy format!
Each weekday you’ll read a short section and watch 1-3 YouTube videos where you and your children will get to sing along, plus get to experience these songs in various styles and formats. It’s an enjoyable path to stealth learning that the whole family will enjoy.
We will explore the rich and diverse musical history of the United States through four of its iconic songs. Music has always played a significant role in American culture.
The songs that are included are:
- America (My Country, Tis of Thee)
- Star Spangled Banner
- America the Beautiful
- You’re a Grand Ole Flag

How to use the course
You will see three sections as part of the course. This top section contains the FAQ and printables needed to complete the course. The second section contains all lessons. As you work on the course, it automatically keeps track of where you are. When finished with a lesson, click "Complete and Continue" to move on. You can always come back to past lessons, though.
Warning about the Videos:
This course was created by Erica Johns. Gena Mayo's warning: I have not viewed all the videos included in this course. Since every family is different, I recommend you preview for content, costumes, graphics on screen, etc. to make sure they are appropriate for your family's viewing. If you choose not to watch, you can still use the videos to listen to the music!
