Combine with other studies

If you are studying the historical years of the mid-18th century to the early 19th century, you will find that this is an excellent additional resource to enhance what you’re learning. The height of the Neoclassical art period occurred roughly between 1750 and 1830. Art provides the visual account of a time and place, and gives us imagery to hold onto as we learn and recall the past.

This program helps you and your children get to know some of the greatest artists and most famous artworks of all time.

With this art era we get many important glimpses into the Enlightenment, the scientific advances of the time, changing ideas about spirituality and society, and more.

In this 11-week program you’ll become familiar with:

Giovanni Battista Piranesi

Francisco Bayeu y Subias

Joseph Wright of Derby

John Singelton Copley

Angelica Kauffman

Jacques-Louis David

John Trumbull

Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres

William Bouguereau

Plus you’ll also get a two+ weeks of shorter looks at 11 more Neoclassical era artists, with one Fine Art Page per artist.

There is 1 coordinating art project this semester and 38 Fine Art Pages (pdf downloads) included.

Plus coordinating Fine Art Pages, bonuses, and 2 coordinating art projects!

What age group is the Daily Art: Renaissance useful for?

Kids ages 8 and older will get the most out of Daily Art, but we do have families with preschoolers that are loving the program. There are some videos that are geared toward younger children, but most are for elementary through high school. Each age can get their own level of good out of the program, and I think families with a mix of ages will find that you can adapt it pretty well for your children. The bonus Artist Study Notebook also has great resources that can work for all ages!

How long are the videos each day?

Most of the videos are around 4-5 minutes, with some occasionally being more like 8 minutes or longer.

How is nudity handled in this program?

I aim to keep the nudity to a minimum, while also staying true to the subject matter. Sensual nudity is avoided. Classical form nudity is sometimes included, but parents are given advanced warning with time stamps for videos that include nudity so you can preview and determine appropriateness for your own family. Some time periods have more nudity than others (Renaissance, for instance).

What if I am unhappy with the course?

We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 14 days and we will give you a full refund. (You will be asked to delete anything you have downloaded from the course.)
