Welcome and A Corny Concerto

Welcome and A Corny Concerto

Welcome to this fun Classical Meets Cartoons session of Sound Bites! Let's get started with some old favorites, shall we?

Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies really lead the way in including classical music in cartoons. Anyone who grew up with Bugs Bunny and his friends knows this well! This is a wonderful way to draw a connection between classics and entertainment.

This classic Looney Tunes episode features Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Elmer Fudd, and others, with some beautiful classical music setting the tone.

Pieces you'll hear:

Tales from the Vienna Woods, Op. 325 by Johann Strauss II (1868)
The Blue Danube by Johann Strauss II (1866)

You can also click to watch a fun video of Tales from the Vienna Woods piece, which is a piano version....but the piano plays itself! Your kids will want to see this. :)

The Blue Danube video features a beautiful ballet performance.
