"Annie" the Musical

Background Information about the Musical:

Annie is a classical musical and is a great way to teach your kids some history of the depression era. The musical is based on the comic strip by Harold Gray and book by Thomas Meehan. Martin Charnin wrote the lyrics and Charles Strouse wrote the music. It opened on Broadway in 1977.

Synopsis:

Annie is a young girl living in an orphanage in New York City during the 1930s. She is chosen to go stay with the billionaire Oliver Warbucks over the Christmas holidays. He falls in love with her and decides to adopt her, but she believes her parents are still alive. He launches a search and some evil people try to kidnap her. But it has a happy ending!
