You will find fifteen 15-Minute Music Lessons especially suited for elementary-aged students. Everything you need is included right in the course: lessons to read and videos to watch. Each lesson includes free printables and sometimes links to other sites to enrich your learning on the subject. You can complete each lesson in 15 minutes, but more material is included if you'd like to expand the time or the days on a particular lesson.
Gena Mayo is a homeschooling mom of 8 who has been teaching music in various forms for over 20 years. She has a Bachelors degree in Music Education and a Masters degree in Vocal Pedagogy (teaching voice lessons). It is her desire to help all homeschoolers include music in their homeschools.
"I've already written about how much we love Gena Mayo's 20th Century Music Appreciation course. Now her 15-Minute Music Lesson Course makes it even easier to learn about music. The music videos, the printables, and the quizzes are all accessible from the safe, user-friendly Teachable platform. But what I love most is that my kids and I can have fun learning about music whenever we have 15 minutes." ~Melanie Wilson, Author at Psychowith6.com and GrammarGalaxyBooks.com, homeschooling mom of 6
"I have three children, ages 12, almost 9 and a four year old. I heard them either humming or singing the songs while I was nearby, it was cute. I think this curriculum can go farther than elementary. Most adults do not know or remember some of information given. Thank you! Smile." ~T.C., mom of 3
"I wasn't sure if this music teaching method would work for us since I have a 9,7,6,5 and they are so different in their individual learning styles and interest. It was great being able to try out the Patriotic Music Lesson for free. It really allowed me to see how my kids would receive this teaching method and not waste money on another curriculum that wouldn't be used. My kids thoroughly enjoyed watching the short videos and having discussion as we went thru the lesson. They enjoyed sharing their favorite songs and then taking the quiz as a family. Afterwords I sent them to do the worksheet together; the older kids helping the younger ones. I giggled because they were humming and singing the songs to help answers the questions. That is what made me decide to sign up for the Elementary 15-Minute Music Lessons. Thank you for taking the time in putting together this lesson which is done so well. The kids and I enjoyed it very much." ~L.S., mom of 4
